How Bloc Works

Learn full-time, or complete Bloc during nights and weekends. Work at your own schedule and get help when you need it.

With a project-based curriculum written by our course directors, you'll create real apps like replicas of Instagram, Foursquare, and EverNote.

Learn from an experienced professional in the field. Weekly mentor meetings clarify concepts, debug issues, and pair-program.

I have my dream job because of Bloc, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend Bloc to anyone else wishing to break into web programming."

Scholarships are reviewed and awarded monthly. The deadline for a given month is the last day of the month. Applicants may be contacted the following week to be interviewed, and applicants are notified of a decision by the 15th of the month following the month in which they apply.

Upon receiving the scholarship, we ask that each recipient commit to two things. First, we ask that you blog about your learning experience. Sharing your story is both invaluable for Bloc, as well as a channel for you to make your goals public, which is a proven method to creating personal accountability. Second, we ask that you allow Bloc to write a case study about your journey including a short description of your background before Bloc, and what you accomplished after the program, so that prospective students can see what you accomplished.

If selected, you will be notified by email, and will have one month from the notification date in which to enroll. If you do not enroll within one month of notification date, Bloc and Women Who Code reserve the right to offer the scholarship to another applicant. Scholarships cannot be combined with any other Bloc promotion or discount.
