Gemma was bold enough to take Bloc's UX/UI Design Course immediately followed by the Frontend course. It paid off — she scored a position as a Frontend Developer.
Eliam's Capstone Project got him accepted into Y Combinator. Now he's enrolled in his 2nd Bloc program, which he's able to fit into his schedule as the Founder of Willing.
Bloc has given me the opportunity to begin a new career at 32 and it has shown me how much I am capable of. Oh, and it has given me a nicer paycheck too ;)
Without Bloc, it would have taken me longer to learn. Design is a bottomless pit of knowledge. It is easy to get lost in it. The curriculum of Bloc is well structured and gives you a right direction to learn the right skills for the job. Bloc has certainly helped me shape up my career and I am very excited for the new adventures I going to face.

This completely changed my career path. It helped me to learn and grow a skill that is not only in demand, but will forever be in demand. Growing that skill allowed me to get a job that didn't just pay well, but also made me way happier with the actual work I was doing.
Bloc's curriculum gave me the structure and confidence I needed to transition into a designer full-time. The most important takeaway from Bloc is the access to dedicated mentorship. Bloc's mentors do a wonderful job of creating an inclusive, creative environment where eager designers can explore their ideas. Theres a great exchange of knowledge from both sides.
Taking Bloc gave the knowledge I needed to pursue my dream job. Because of that I was able to land my dream job which will be able to provide for my growing family.
I'm proud of what I accomplished as a teacher and principal, but I didn't feel a spark of passion for the education industry. To be frank, I wanted 2 things: a better salary, and more sophisticated work. The software industry offers both, so I decided it was time to commit to a career change and enroll in Bloc.
Choosing to do Bloc has just given me more opportunities for the future. I can get paid more for doing something I truly, help provide better for my future family, and be in a career that's always growing and expanding.
I am a single mother, and my experience with Bloc helped me land a job that will *not only* put a roof over both my head and my daughter's head, but will allow me to be saving up money each month. I won't have to worry about whether or not she will be warm, fed and clothed going forward.
This job means a lot me. We are struggling financially as a family, my mother cannot work due to arthritis. It is just me and my father who are running the family. I really want to be involved in projects that impacts many people, that makes a difference in people's lives. In my job those are the aspects that will make me get out from bed.

I'm incredibly grateful to Bloc! I've made a successful career change into Design, something I truly love, and without having any prior design experience. I've also landed my dream UX Design job! I highly recommend Boc's Design course to anyone wanting to make a career change.
The curriculum is set up great in my opinion. Bloc gives you the resources but they also make you work to find some more answers and complete projects. I like the online aspect because for me I pick up some skills quickly and others I need more practice on (like Javascript). I have had awesome mentors who give you valuable feedback throughout your time at Bloc. They are constantly upgrading the curriculum and adding to it.
The one on one mentorship is really helpful, and the #slack resources are unbelievably helpful. I highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone who knows they cannot just quit everything they are doing, but still want to make a life changing decision in progressing their lives.
Another benefit of Bloc's mentorship model is that it is failure-positive and non-shaming. It's great to learn that failure as a coder or designer is simply unavoidable, and that it's not the end of your world if you need to reach out for help.
I researched the best UX design courses for weeks before deciding on Bloc and I honestly think it was the best decision I've made in a very long time. From mentor meetings to tons of supplementary links to step-by-step video tutorials, Bloc arms you with the knowledge you'll need for the real world.
It does a great job at starting out slow, building the fundamentals, but then once you are comfortable, it really kicks it up, and you start coding awesome projects that always tie to real-world use cases. If you are thinking about doing an online web dev course, and you want to leave each lesson feeling accomplished, Bloc is for you!
